BBL light therapy is attracted to pigment or skin or melanin so an active tan from the sun, tanning beds and even self-tanning lotion is not appropriate for treating with BBL. It is recommended that a person does not have sun exposure in the area to be treated for a period of 3 weeks prior to treatment with BBL. Self tanners must be faded from the skin for at least a week to 10 days prior to treatment. BBL treatments remove sun spots very effectively, but new spots will occur and the old spots can return over time. Results can last up to a year and clients who have these treatments annually see continued improvement in skin tone, texture and color. This is why we recommend maintenance treatments at least once a year. To prolong your results, use medical-grade skin care and be diligent about wearing sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher every day, to prevent new sun damage.

Your provider will provide a recommendation based on your skin condition and goals. In general, we recommend starting with a package of 3 treatments, every 4 weeks, for optimal results.
