  • Can tanned skin be treated?

    BBL light therapy is attracted to pigment or skin or melanin so an active tan from the sun, tanning beds and even self-tanning lotion is not appropriate for treating with BBL. It is recommended that a person does not have sun exposure in the area to be treated for a period of 3 weeks prior to treatment with BBL. Self tanners must be faded from the skin for at least a week to 10 days prior to treatment. We also have the MOXI laser which is safe for all skin types, our providers can give an assessment of your skin in a consultation and personalize recommendations for you.

  • How long does it last?

    BBL treatments remove sun spots very effectively, but new spots will occur and the old spots can return over time. Results can last up to a year and clients who have these treatments annually see continued improvement in skin tone, texture and color. This is why we recommend maintenance treatments at least once a year. To prolong your results, use medical-grade skin care and be diligent about wearing sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher every day, to prevent new sun damage.

  • How soon will I see the effects?

    Your provider will provide a recommendation based on your skin condition and goals. In general, we recommend starting with a package of 3 treatments, every 4 weeks, for optimal results.

  • How many treatments will I need?

    We always recommend a series of treatments for the best outcome. The number of treatments needed varies with each client and your provider will personalize a treatment plan based on your skin and your goals. They may also combine your treatment with our other popular aesthetic procedures to further enhance your results.
